I was very pleasantly surprised by how great the food is at Guac N Roll. It's a clean, cute gem in Bristol. I love that it's family owned. It's a bit pricey but fresh and tastes great.

Everything at Guac & Roll was absolutely top-notch! Bristol doesn’t have many great restaurants, but this one definitely stands out—especially if you love Spanish-style food. I ordered the birria and steak tacos with street corn and a mango-pineapple drink, and every bite was packed with flavor. The service was excellent and the presentation was on point. For dessert, we tried the flan. While the flavor and caramel were good, the texture was heavier than I’m used to—I typically prefer a lighter, fluffier flan—but that’s just a personal preference. It definitely wasn’t enough to take away from the rest of the experience. Overall, this place deserves all five stars. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and some of the best tacos in town. If you haven’t been here yet, definitely give Guac & Roll a try—you won’t be disappointed!

As a native So Cali girl who grew up loving good Mexican food, one of my earliest missions when I moved to this state nearly three decades ago was finding a decent Mexican spot (or 12–more is better). It was a fairly impossible quest back then here in central CT, though over the decades, we’ve gotten an influx of decent Latin food of various stripes that have left me with some ways to sate those cravings. Yet, in spite of that, I could never find a couple of my So Cali favs done right or at all, and it was a sad, sad thing. Well, no longer! Guac N Roll to the rescue! One of my favorite things I simply could not find here was a good, fresh fried hard shell beef barbacoa taco. Like anywhere. Nowhere does this. Even at reasonably decent places, a hard shell taco would be that crappy premade garbage. Yuck. My biggest primary draw to Guac N Roll was that they had this in the menu, so I tried these and HOLY SMOKES~ Guac and Roll does it RIGHT. Their supreme hard barbacoa taco is—really apex. I mean it. Moist, flavorful shredded beef, fresh, well arranged toppings, perfectly done, fresh, hard fried corn tortilla—As good as any taco of this style I’ve ever had back home. Angels sang, it was amazing. My husband got the same thing and loved it so much he repeated it tonight. Do yourself a favor and try the supreme barbacoa tacos, preferably with a side of guac to slather on, and prepare for eating bliss~ Tonight, since they had another long time back home fav—proper fried fish or shrimp tacos—I went with the shrimp, and my woooord, these were just fantastic. Just as good as anything back home. Squeeze of lime, a little hot sauce, and the party in my mouth was slamming. I intend to try the fish version soon because these were just hella yum. Actually, I intend to try a lot of things since they’re doing things so right. Their tree leches cake was also good, and their salsa is yum and chips fresh. I keep eyeballing the pozole—another uncommon dish here that I love when done well—so that might actually get my third try spot—jury’s out. I’m pretty sure anything I try here will be fantastic at this point. Online ordering would be a huge plus, but I have nothing but praise so far for this outstanding new place right in the heart of Bristol. Please give it a go—you won’t be sorry!
